Social prescribing service for young people under 25
Social prescribing involves working with our social prescribers to think about what things are most important to you and helping you to connect to community organisations that align with what matters.
Usually, people have around 1-6 sessions where they would think about what they would like to become involved in and what steps they need to take to get there.
You can self refer to this service or may be referred by one of the practice team.
This support might be useful for you if:
• You feel ready to get involved in new things but don’t know how/ lack confidence
• You are willing to try something new and are quite self-motivated
• You don’t want specific mental health input but feel being more active or connected to the community would help your wellbeing.
Travel Clinic
Immunisations and advice are available through our Travel Service. Please collect a form from reception, or follow the link below to complete the form online, and then make an appointment in our Travel Clinic.
The form should be returned to the surgery prior to your appointment.
You will have a telephone appointment initially to discuss all your travel arrangements, then if required a follow up face to face appointment for the vaccinations.
You should allow a minimum of 12 weeks to enable vaccination courses to be completed. There may be a charge for certain vaccines.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below.
Europe & Russia | North America |
Central America | South America |
Caribbean | Africa |
Middle East | Central Asia |
East Asia | Australasia and Pacific |
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible – We will be unable to offer travel appointments to anyone travelling with less than (12 weeks) prior to their departure date as in some cases a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to complete a course of vaccinations. Some vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
There is still no guarantee we will be able to accommodate your travel request as we have limited capacity if you do give us a minimum of 12 weeks notice.
You may need to need to book an appointment at a private travel clinic such as the Winchester travel clinic.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS. Our charges are as follows:
